The network consists of two servers, a switch, a router, four IP cameras, three printers and four terminals. The system supports immediate addition of more devices if necessary without any reconfiguration up to a total number of twenty four.
There is full internet access from the inside of the network through the router which is strictly firewalled only allowing specific traffic to the network from the outside. For the better protection of the network as well as economic reasons there is only one internet address assigned and shared through Network Address Translation. The address is static in order for Virtual Private Networks to be setup to remote locations.
The LAN servers are responsible for the services provided inside the network. One of the servers is completely dedicated to the accounting and logistics software the company is running allowing for high availability and data security. The second server provides file sharing and storing services under account names with security passwords, DNS (Domain Name Services) which are improving the internet performance and NMS (Network Management Services) server such as logging and mail systems for administrative monitoring purposes.
There are also two black and white printers connected to the network, one of which is dedicated to the accounting department and the other to the rest of the offices along with a color AIO (All In One) printer (printer, FAX, scanner, copier).
Last but not least there are four networked cameras providing feed to remote locations through the internet for security purposes.
